9) Subscribe to electronic lists that are setup for writers to promote their work.

Find out their guidelines (word count, bio length, etc.) before submitting. Some ezines list have strict word limits on bios. For example, some welcome full short bio while others may only accept Name and one link.

Be sure to include a report "sponsor ad" in your report promoting one of your services, products or affiliates.

11) Develop an ecourse (email workshop) to post on your site.

You may write the e-course or gather several of your similar-themed (5-7) articles and easily create an e-course. Set it up on auto responder and offer it free in the signature box of your article. You will gain subscribers to your list and sales.

How Do I Change My IP Address?

If you want an answer to this question; then pay close attention to this article. Actually, the surge in the number of people who use the internet these days is enough to make you prioritize the issue of privacy. All it takes for an intruder to break into your system is a simple knowledge of your IP address. Once your internet protocol address is compromised; all important and personal settings on your computer can be manipulated. That is why cases of stolen passwords, and identity theft are rife these days; making it absolutely necessary to surf anonymously.

There are various techniques and programs being used by people to protect their data online. Some of these programs have advanced features to help your surf anonymously; while some do not. We will be taking a look these methods in the next few paragraphs; hopefully, you should be able to make up your mind by the time you are through with the article. Please note that none of the numerous ant-virus programs already installed on your PC is capable of shielding your IP address; they are only there for other reasons.

How Do Change My IP Address? (By a free proxy server)

A proxy server is a website specifically created to or designed to protect your unique internet protocol address. It is an indirect way of accessing various websites in order to surf anonymously. A proxy server is not really as advanced in terms of quality features needed to access HTTPS pages; however you can use it to visit a couple of websites. Free proxy servers are slow, and this could be because of the amount of ads usually displayed on their web pages. Moreover, using a free proxy server is always at your risk.

My favourite, maybe the most popular choice these days is the secure my IP software. This software has built-in features that enables you do a lot of things privately and confidently. Unlike the free proxy server, this software helps me to secure my IP address without having any fear of losing my personal data to hackers. The fact that it does not affect the speed of my server makes it safer. Though, there are different applications online these days; you will be doing yourself a lot of good by reading reviews, and finding out from other customers about the right one to install on your computer.

Elle - 'The Body' and Money

It looks like the economic downturn has provided an excellent excuse for women to buy expensive lingerie. According to a recent interview with Elle 'the body' Macpherson says: "In a depressed economy, where we can't afford a new dress, we can spend £100 on a new bra and knickers that can feel like a gift."

Well thank you for that little gem of wisdom Elle but I wouldn't normally spend £100 on a new bra and knickers even in a positively buoyant economy. As for feeling like a gift...well it would certainly feel like a gift if I hadn't bought it myself (or if I had a split personality who likes shopping) but the best I have come to expect is an ill-thought out piece of tack from Ann Summers. My one seriously expensive lingerie set I bought myself has been worn only twice as it is so uncomfortable.

As an epilogue I can see where the bubble-wrapped model is coming from. It would have been advisable to reiterate it for the 'average' woman who can easily keep a whole new outfit within the £100 barometer. What she should have said is a new nail varnish or designer lipstick, which I could have understood completely apart from the 'gift part' as I am sill unsure as to what the hell she was talking about. Of course she was merely trying to plug her own lingerie designs by slipping the comment into the interview disguised as genuine insight. This could well be the literary equivalent of Clark Kent's glasses. I.e. A really rubbish disguise.

Currently we are also being told by newspapers and financial magazines that the best thing to invest in right now is gold. Not gold as in jewellery of course, but gold as in pure unadulterated gleaming soft bullion. After these irresponsible articles there are sure to be some naïve readers out there who will now be mincing around in overpriced frilly knickers and gleaming in ornamental medallions whilst thinking they are being sensibly frugal.

I on the other hand am paying rather more attention to rising gas and oil prices. I know that underwear (unless it's thermal) will be of little use to me when the bills start to close in and my supplies start to close up. Its OK for Elle, she can afford to swan off to wherever the sun is shining but I believe that I would rather spend my £100 on a few thick woolly jumpers for the chilly British winter nights.

If you can't hold back from the spending then for goodness' sake look for bargains. Surfing the internet might not have the same instant purchase kind of feeling that 'real time' purchasing does but think of the benefits...you will not only be saving on fuel but you will be saving on plastic bags too, the environment and your wallet both reap the rewards. Now that's a real gift.

Crush It! By Gary Vaynerchuk - An Internet Wine Business Phenomenon's Grapes of Wealth Story

In 1978, Sasha and Tamara Vaynerchuk, and their three-year old son, Gennady emigrated from Belarus, in the former Soviet Union, to Queens, New York. They moved to the United States to realize the American dream. Gennady was renamed Gary; and today, is acclaimed for his Internet marketing and profits in the wine industry. In 2006, Gary Vaynerchuk began using social media, including Facebook and Twitter, to maximize his brand equity. Vaynerchuk chronicles his achievements; and defines how anyone, with enough passion, persistence and patience can realize their own dreams in Crush It! Why Now Is The Time To Cash In On Your Passion (Harper Collins, 2009).

The Internet (a virtually nonexistent medium a scant 14 years ago, notes Vaynerchuck) is a game changer in the 21st century marketplace. Vaynerchuk believes most people still haven't harnessed its true power. Now, education levels, number of connections and wealth no longer determine an individual's propensity for success.

Personal branding is key to monetizing your passion online, says Vaynerchuk. Even if you're happily employed, it's essential, given the volatility of the new world economy. He presciently describes the death of resumes, as we know them today. "Developing your personal brand is the same thing as living and breathing your resume every second that you're working. Your latest tweet and comment on Facebook and most recent blog post? That's your resume now."

Vaynerchuk inherited his father's entrepreneurial DNA, quick to capitalize on business opportunities in youth; including selling baseball cards at the mall, and doing neighborhood chores. He honors DNA; noting that it's what makes each one of us unique and interesting. "I firmly believe that the path to your business success literally lies in the twists and turns of your own double helix," he says.

Vaynerchuk details today's social media juggernauts Facebook and Twitter and how to maximize them for brand development. He describes other sites too, mentioning that they're worth joining due to the extreme competition on the heavy hitters. He also emphasizes that social media tools "are only as powerful as the person who uses them." The foundation of all social media is having good content, including storytelling. He advocates delivering your message with an audio, video, or written word blog. Once you've built a community, and your brand becomes sticky you can begin to monetize your expertise. Dive into revenue ponds, including articles, seminars, and speaking engagements, to name a few.

Entrepreneurs benefit by adopting reactionary business practices, says Vaynerchuk; being able to adapt and change. Social media platforms improve your ability to be reactionary, enabling you to guide your brand and put out fires when necessary. Trendspotting is another reactionary business move.

Crush It! reads at a succinct 142 pages. One caveat however. Vaynerchuk has become so famous, that his prompts to email him will take months for a reply. He admits he's at a crossroads with his Inbox volume and ability to respond individually; and is exploring other communication options.

Think of Crush It! as Internet rock star Gary Vaynerchuk's MTV Unplugged performance. Forget his Web fame. Disregard his multi-million dollar profits from monetizing his brand online. Omit his A-list endorsements.

Vaynerchuk's raw message is clear: Ultimately, family comes first, followed by a passionate, hard work ethic. Today, it's imperative that everyone develops their own personal brand; realizing that personal and professional brand equity are inseparable. Professionally, individuals mired in a 20th century employee mentality will languish in an entrepreneurially minded new world economy.

Food for Thought: Exercise Your Mind

Depression is a disorder marked by sadness, low energy, impaired concentration, and feelings of dejection. Some people believe that depression is normal. Hectic daily activities and the conflict between family and career cause constant stress. Yet depression and anxiety as a response to stress are not normal. They can be signs of illness, which may worsen and result in physical symptoms or an inability to function.

Life was much simpler for the last two generations. Father worked; mother stayed home. This is no longer the model. Some now view families as an "endangered species." There are more single mothers working than ever before. There is greater stress and competition for well-paying jobs. The result: long hours at work, away from the family. Children are raised with limited supervision. Thus we see more children with emotional problems derived from a lack of knowledge as to who they are and what their role is in today's society. Similarly, adults suffer from the loss of nurturing that family time should provide.

Until recently, mental health was not discussed openly. However, there is a growing awareness that choosing therapy can be helpful, even necessary, to cope with today's life. Psychiatric help is often sought for the entire family. Today, being healthy means not only having a sound body, but also a sound mind and spirit.

People exercise their bodies daily, yet they neglect to "exercise" their feelings and emotions. Young men are taught to hide and deny emotions. Women are reluctant to seek help in coping with their depression, anxiety, or distressed relationship. The same fitness fanatic who exercises daily, eats right and has two physicals a year will neglect the mind until a crisis is reached. Emotional problems don't just happen, but are cumulative and they can be avoided at times with the same "daily fitness" and "annual physical" approach we use when caring for our bodies.

The Chinese say "the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." Just like it's better to maintain a healthy heart than recover from a heart attack, dealing with emotional issues is easier before the chaos of a crisis breaks. Think about "exercising your emotions" and give your mental health professional a call.

Time to Fix Our Schools - Drop-Out Rates Are Soaring

Here we watch as the political races rage on at all levels and everyone is complaining about our schools and the increasing High School Drop Out rates even though we spend $10,000 per student per year. Complaining about is not fixing the problem and the infighting of politics at all levels seems to be distant from the actual problems and potential solutions.

So, what can we do, as all this bickering is not getting us anywhere and the problems are growing? In some areas and regions of our country we have Drop-Out Rates of 50% and that is unacceptable for the future in this information age. And even when kids do graduate what do they really know. Those who go onto higher education, are paying higher costs, so high that they are repaying student loans for decades.

Something must be done, as the educational system, much like the health care system, and banking system are broken. In doing much research on this subject, I have read several very good ideas that could be implemented and yet, the chances of getting anything like this done, are slim to none in the current political climate. However, I'd sure like to recommend a very good book to you:

"Winning the Brain Race; A Bold Plan to Make Our Schools Competitive" by David T. Kearns (Chairman and CEO of Xerox) and Denis P. Doyle (a Senior Researcher Fellow at the Hudson Institute); ICS Press [Institute for Contemporary Studies in San Francisco, CA; 1988.

The book starts out with a famous quote from H. G. Wells;

Human History becomes more and more a race between education and catastrophe"

And in the book that follows is a complete plan to solve this problem and the consequences if we fail to do so. Please consider this book and if you are in a leadership position and can do something about it, then please pick up a copy for yourself.

How Shredding Your Papers and Mail Can Protect You From Identity Theft

When the receipts and bank statements pile up, your first inclination may be to just tear them up and toss them. If you're like many households that collect those small grocery shopping bags, you probably double tie the handles and throw everything away without a moment's thought. It may not occur to you, however, that even in this state you risk having your personal and financial information exposed.

It is possible that "Dumpster divers," in an attempt to search for credit card numbers and other cast-off private information, can piece together enough torn receipts and bank papers to steal a person's identity. If you are only half-heartedly destroying expired information it isn't enough to protect you. Using a shredder to handle this data is the best way to ensure your account numbers, and good name, remain safe.

What to Shred

Look around your home office at all the paper piling up on your desk. If you like to keep accurate records for tax time it is understandable that you will have so much stuff. However, since audits can only be done going back five years, there really is no reason to hang out to outdated paperwork, so don't be afraid to throw it out.

What should go, properly shredded? Here is just a short list:

Bank statements and other correspondence from financial institutions. Credit cards receipts of all types. Any mail from financial institutions that you no longer need. Expired identification cards and credit cards. Leftover blank checks from closed accounts. Any other unneeded papers that contain private information that could be used to steal your identity - licenses, leases, etc.

How to Shred

Once you have gathered all the necessary data to destroy, you have options. Depending on the size of your offering, you can invest in an office shredder - but make sure you get one the renders everything illegible. A persistent thief may still be able to piece together strips of papers.

For small businesses or households with a ton of stuff to shred, you are better off contacting a professional shredding service. One advantage to such a service is that the equipment used is designed to completely mutilate the paper so nobody can read numbers or writing. Furthermore, a reputable company will not simply toss your waste. Everything is protected and sent to a recycling plant that uses your shredding to create new products. You protect your good name and help the planet!

So before you pack away any papers and take up much valuable space in your home, consider a thorough shredding to keep your name and your money safe.

Facts and Myths about Natural Hair Loss Remedies

No one enjoys losing hair but for both men and women, hair loss is common. While sometimes hair loss is the result of things that cannot be helped such as chemotherapy, other times hair loss is due to things that can be changed. In this article, we wanted to address some of the common facts and myths associated with natural remedies for hair loss.

For starters, many people losing hair believe the only way to correct the problem is from the outside. In this case, the belief is that a chemical or topical treatment, or perhaps special shampoo will solve the problem. Although these remedies may work, most do not. The truth about hair loss is that in 95% of cases, the problem is actually based on genetics or a hormonal imbalance of DHT. The problem is that DHT affects hair follicles, which causes them to become thin and then shrink. New medical studies show that men with hair loss problems, levels of DHT are high.

Therefore, while some of the natural remedies that are formulated to work from the outside may offer some improvement, most will only provide short-term help. Instead, you want to focus on decreasing DHT levels. You will find a number of herbs, minerals, and vitamins that actually block DHT, which helps promote new and healthy hair growth. Some of the recommended supplements include:

B6 Biotin Gota Kola Pumpkin Oil Zinc

Things you want to avoid when experiencing hair loss include:

Nettle Root Saw Palmetto

You should also consider your diet, which can have a direct link to hair loss. Keep in mind, that if you were experiencing only slight hair loss, the problem could be due to a lack of stimulation to the scalp. In this case, try massaging the scalp for 30 minutes a day to help restore blood and oxygen flow. To increase circulation, mix lavender and bay essential oils with almond, sesame, or soybean oil.

Simple Chainsaw Bar and Chain Maintenance for the Woodturner

While the chainsaw is a valuable tool for the woodturner it is usually used intermittently. Maintenance is necessary as it is for all tools and can be easily accomplished.

It should be noted that chainsaws are extremely dangerous as tools go and should be treated with respect. Instruction in the use of the saw is necessary before using it and safety is the concern of the user. Protective clothing should be worn along with proper face, ear and eye protection. A well maintained saw is a safer saw.

First of all, examine the bar and chain of the saw. The chain should be sharp with all teeth the same size. Sharpening the chain involves two procedures, filing the teeth and filing the depth gauges. The teeth are easiest to file using the recommended size file and a guide that both holds the file and ensures that it cuts to the right depth. Each tooth should be the same length when finished so if one is duller than the rest and requires more filing, file the other teeth to the same length. One tooth longer than the others tends to pull the bar in its own direction and can cause binding. It is a good idea to touch up the teeth at every filling of gasoline or, if the saw is electric, every couple of hours of use. If the saw hits the ground or something other than wood, consider it dull and sharpen the chain. Some sawyers like to have their chains professionally ground at regular intervals and file in between.

The depth gauges are projections in front of the teeth and prevent the teeth from taking too great a cut and possibly catching and kicking the bar back at the user. If they are too high, on the other hand, the teeth are not able to cut to depth and quickly dull from rubbing the wood. Again, a simple jig from your chainsaw supplier allows for easy measuring and ensuring that each depth gauge is filed to the proper height. Depth gauges should be checked every few chain sharpenings.

The bar should be straight, clean and tight to the saw. There are adjustments for proper tension on the chain and it should be set according to your manufacturer's instructions. Too much tension can lead to over heating and ruining both bar and chain while too little tension can cause the chain to catch and kick the saw at the user or to fling the chain off and cause injury. Generally, all that is involved is tensioning a set screw until the chain moves easily on the bar. The bar is held in place with a couple of nuts that need to be checked every filling or at frequent intervals as the vibration of the saw may cause them to loosen.

One of the most obvious things to check and one that is too often not done is to make sure there is plenty of bar oil in the reservoir. This is different from the oil that is mixed with the gasoline and appropriate oils should be used in either case. Bar oil gets flung off by the movement of the chain but helps greatly in keeping the bar cool and in smooth cutting. Most saws are designed to need the reservoir filled with every filling of gasoline. Woodturners tend not to run a saw long enough to run it dry and may forget to fill the bar oil reservoir.

Routine maintenance should become just that, routine. Once the habit is formed, it ceases to be a chore and instead becomes an enjoyable part of the woodturning practice.

Methods to Gaining Website Traffic

Website traffic promotion is a way with which to generate traffic to be able to market goods or services and also have a feel of what a visitor has to say to a particular website. Any given website will sure want to generate website traffic. The thing to ask however is can this be done?

The devious schemes being done in order to create traffic and to have site guests such as the use of the pesky spam emails should be discarded outright. This tactic leaves a bad taste to the mouth and should not be even bothered upon. A few years ago this style was somehow accepted but gone are those days, consumers nowadays demand classy methods.

What can we do therefore to have a regular stream of visitors to our online trade? We certainly are not willing to give up an arm and a leg for it, but we would consider an affordable way of having that targeted internet traffic. And by emphasizing on the affordable, it means it is free or at least cheap by usual standards.

One way of doing website traffic promotion is by making use of the many available social networking sites on the web. This tactic should be synchronized with the use of other interlaced networks of social bookmarking files supported by RSS, video or written content. With this you are creating a whole complex network all purposely pointing to the direction of your website. This kind of website traffic promotion will certainly increase your aimed website visitors in an instant.

This premise although feasible is really not advisable because it will go against the ethical extent of search engines. This may not seem plausible reasonable but it is the proper way of getting things done, that is working well WITH search engine sites. And this practice can be done by scaling things down a bit slowly.

So then if website traffic can be generated through the previously mentioned methods; why then do you have to buy guaranteed website traffic? Do you really need to cash out a generous amount of money when you can do it by yourself coupled by a solid plan and purpose? Using the detailed methods as detailed will enable a website owner to actually have a constant increment of visitors and much wanted traffic .

Getting Your Kid to Work As an Actor

First, you want to make sure you are doing this for all the right reasons, mainly: Your child actually wants to be an actor. I see a ton of parents "pimping" their kids, and these children have no real interest in acting. This is no way to do anything, let alone deal with the harsh realities of trying to make it as an actor.

Assuming your child is motivated and really wants to act, get him into an acting class as soon as possible. Do research and find a class that suits your child. Look for classes that specialize in teaching kids and that have kids that are working all the time. I would shy away from a class that tries to teach "the Method." It's a bit too much for a child, in my opinion. Okay, maybe too much for most adults as well.

Once your kid has his chops and has a nice monologue prepared, get him some head shots. He will need two: one for commercial and one for theatrical. (Be prepared to get new head shots at least once per year, since kids grow and change quickly.) You will need to hunt for a photographer who works with kids and does not charge much more than $325 for the two looks. Sure you can spend more or even less but this is about the average for a quality shoot. Once the head shots are done, and your child has a good monologue prepared, start the process of finding an agent.

This is not that hard, most agents want to work with kids and most agencies have a children's department. It's best to sign with an agent that both you and your child LOVE! There are a ton of children's agents out there, so do not be afraid to say no thank you if an agent wants to work with your sign your child and it doesn't feel right.

You need to be in touch with your child's agent on a regular basis, and make sure he is working for you. That is, getting your child out on auditions. Two auditions per week is a good rule of thumb. If it is once per week for a spell that is also fine. Sometimes it will be more, sometimes less. The point is that the agent is consistently sending your child out.

I have found much success in making the audition, the call back, and the booking a game for my daughter. For example, if she gets a call back, she gets some cash. If she books the gig, she gets a cool surprise or cash, in addition to her payment for the job. This way she is 100% involved and really self-motivated to do well, which I have found to be the most important thing!

To recap:

1. Make sure your kid wants to be an actor.

2. Get him or her into a kid's acting class.

3. Get him or her to learn a good monologue.

4. Find a photographer and get professional head shots done.

5. Find a great agent.

6. Make a game out of the audition process.

7. Always involve your child, help him to become self-motivated.

8. Keep in touch with your agent, at least once per week.

9. Make sure to get new head shots at least once per year.

10. HAVE FUN!

Choosing a New Compound Bow

There are many different types of bows on the market today, but choosing one is not an easy undertaking. The bow-manufacturing industry has been flooded with new innovations and developments in the last decade. Compound bows have gone through many alterations in appearance and architecture, with a number of drastic changes occurring in the past few years. Justifying the purchase of one bow over another these days requires more than just a large wallet filled with greenbacks and plastic. Fortunately, there are a few guidelines and procedures to follow that will help simplify the process.

Choosing the latest advancement in primitive weaponry begins with a decision to shoot a certain type and brand of bow. Draw length, draw weight, accuracy, wheel and cam design, reflex and deflex riser geometry, brace height, let-off, speed and price are all things to take into account when selecting a particular bow. Other factors to consider are its use. Will it be a hunting bow or a target bow? Will the majority of your shooting be indoors or out? Will it require a camouflage finish or not?

Once you have come to these conclusions, the next step is to visit a local pro shop or surf a favorite web site to obtain more information. A bow must "fit" its shooter. Having a qualified individual measure your draw length is the most important aspect of deciding to purchase a particular bow. Most bows offer multiple draw length options and adjustments.

Draw weight is yet another matter of importance. Draw weights are also adjustable and allow for various settings in 3- to 5-pound increasing and decreasing increments. Peak draw weights normally range between 45 and 90 pounds. Taking the time to shoot several bows will provide answers and can help determine the significance of each of the aforementioned considerations. It's wise to test shoot as many bows as possible before laying down your hard-earned cash.

The current trend in manufacturing designs is to create bows with short axle-to-axle dimensions, reduced mass weight, low brace heights and high let-offs. Many companies have shied away from producing bows that feature round wheels, moderate let-offs or measure over 40 inches from axle-to-axle. This is in direct result of the present demand for more compact bows that possess the ability to boost arrow velocities, increase kinetic energy levels and extend downrange efficiency.

Of all the different makes and models of bows in existence, compounds certainly offer the widest variety of choices for today's archer. Single-cam string and cable harness configurations, split limbs and ultramodern risers forged from high strength multi-composite alloys are just a few of the available upgrades in current production.

There are many advantages to owning a bow with a contemporary look and feel. As mentioned previously, split-limb and single-cam models significantly reduce mass weight. This quality is beneficial to those adventurous hunters who hike into remote backcountry in search of elk and mule deer. Also, in comparison to their two-cam and two-wheel counterparts, single-cam bows are relatively easier to tune and maintain.

In addition, the lightweight aluminum and carbon material used in the limbs, handles and risers, and the fabric used in the strings and cables of new age bows contribute to overall speed and weight reduction. If speed and weight reduction are the determining factors, choose your bow accordingly. These types of bows are better suited to those who utilize a release due to the sharp angle created in the string when a short-limbed bow is fully drawn.

On the other side of the equation, longer axle-to-axle bows are more accurate and forgiving, although this trend is starting to change with ongoing improvements in bow design. If the main concern is supreme accuracy, choose a bow that offers a longer brace height, a riser with deflex geometry, a moderate to low let-off and as long an axle-to-axle length as possible. Deflex risers generally reduce hand torque and are normally found on the most accurate bows. A low to moderate let-off will also yield more accuracy. Those who shoot with a finger tab or a glove require bows that create less of an angle in the string at full draw. This will greatly reduce accuracy problems associated with "string pinch," which occurs at full draw when an acute angle in the bowstring causes extreme tension on the arrow.

Compound bows have one distinct advantage over all other bows -- let-off. Let-off is measured by a percentage of the draw weight that is reduced when the wheels or cams roll over at or near full draw. During this process, a fraction of the peak draw weight is decreased or "let-off." The amount of let-off will not only affect accuracy, but also the personal satisfaction of the shooter, and quite possibly, trophy-book consideration. Much controversy has arisen from the limitations that the Pope and Young Club has placed on the amount of let-off a bow can possess. Sixty-five percent is the cut-off point. Any amount of let-off over 65 percent disqualifies an animal from being entered into the archery record book. Some bows offer higher let-offs in the 75- to 80-percent range. Be aware that a legitimately harvested trophy may not be eligible for record book recognition if the bow you choose has a let-off that is prohibited by the club.

Note: The Pope and Young Club currently lists animals taken with bows having a higher let-off than 65 percent. An asterisk is placed next to the name of the individual who harvested the animal. The asterisk denotes that a bow with a higher let-off than 65 percent was used to harvest the animal.

Limb selection is no longer limited to solid one-piece models. The appearance and performance of bows changed dramatically with the inception of split limbs. However, both types of limbs have advantages and disadvantages. Solid fiberglass and carbon limbs are inherently more durable than two-piece limbs. Nevertheless, split limbs not only reduce weight, but also transfer and distribute energy from the bow to the arrow more evenly. Some archers appreciate the appeal of a split-limb bow while others favor the traditional shape of solid limbs. The option of choosing straight limbs or recurved limbs is also available on most bows in production today. Straight limbs are generally faster while recurved limbs are more forgiving. With the overall differences minimal in comparison, personal preference normally plays the biggest role in limb selection.

These are just a few examples of what state-of-the-art engineering has to offer in bow design. It also illustrates the dilemma one will face when attempting to reach a final decision on which model to purchase. Only research and a healthy amount of leg and arm work will assist an archer in the quest for choosing the "right" bow.

Book Review - "Connections - Everyone Happens For a Reason"

"Connections: Everyone Happens for a Reason" is a beautifully crafted book not just from the literary perspective but in its visual presentation as well.

The symbol of jigsaw puzzle pieces is used throughout the book and so makes for an apt analogy here. Imagine taking jigsaw pieces from numerous different jigsaw puzzles and trying to make the pieces fit together. Your first reaction might be,

"Well, that wouldn't work - the pieces won't fit together."

However, this is what co-authors Dennis Berlien and Jerry Davich have achieved.

The stories of the individuals featured in this book, including those of the authors, are skillfully interwoven. The authors take you by the hand and gently guide you through a wonderful journey of self-discovery because as you read this book you can't help but reflect upon your own life and the connections you've made, missed or have yet to make.

To facilitate this process the book is designed so that there are spaces for you to record your thoughts and respond to the probing questions that are asked throughout the book. The book therefore becomes an interactive journal.

Like in the popular TV series Colombo where you know 'who dunnit' from the outset, you can guess the outcome of some of the stories. Still, that doesn't spoil your pleasure of reading the story for it's the loving detail in which these stories are told that fascinates. Several of the stories have unexpected twists which adds to the intrigue. And sometimes you are taken by surprise even if afterwards you say to yourself that you should have connected the dots. However, this is the power of this book to draw you through it without you trying to figure it out as though it were, for example, a thriller.

This is a book that you can easily read in one sitting but a book that you'll also want to read again. It's very inspirational and touching. You'd have to be as hard as nails not to find yourself moved to tears by some of the stories.

Other stories will give you goose bumps as they unfold the power of synchronicity. You'll recall instances in your own life where a seemingly random chain of events suddenly collate with dramatic consequences.

The poignant stories also make you realise that there can be two interpretations of the phrase "everyone happens for a reason". The first is that everyone who enters your life, however fleeting, does so for a reason. The second is that if you're here on this Earth then you are definitely here for a reason. Your birth was no accident. You have a purpose in life and as Oprah says,

"The work of your life is to discover your purpose and get on with the business of living it out."

You'll find your purpose and you'll be able to live your life on purpose through the relationships you make in your life.

And especially, in this the 21st century, we have unprecedented opportunities to be able to connect with each other. The Internet allows you to connect with people all over the world almost instantly. The popularity of Social Media sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace and Twitter demonstrate our desire to interact with like-minded people.

Nonetheless, despite our technologically advances there are still millions people who feel isolated and lonely. This book reminds you that in order to connect with others, in a meaningful manner, you first have to learn how to connect with yourself. You have to look inwards before looking and reaching outwards.

Ironically, one of the most delightful tales from this book is about an individual who shunned all the high-tech ways of communicating. The comparatively primitive and simple manner he chose didn't even have any guarantee of success but he was successful and in ways in which he couldn't have imagined.

Reading this book and honestly answering the questions that lie within as well as the questions that will certainly arise from within you as you read this book will undoubtedly enhance the quality of your life. This is the kind of book that is worthy of keeping a spare copy to give to a friend or a stranger.
